Why Physics?

Physics gives you a well rounded education, not only with a broad array of knowledge in the physical and natural sciences (such as chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, engineering), but also in the social sciences. Many professionals in these fields began with a degree in physics. Of students who obtain a bachelors degree in physics, half go directly into employment. The other half go on to graduate school in physics, astronomy, engineering, medicine, law, education or other professions.


Degrees Offered

Are you interested in pursuing a degree in physics? We offer coursework leading to a B.S. in Physics, a B.S. with Areas of Emphasis in Bio, Applid and Medical Physics, a B.A. in Physics (targeted towards secondary education teachers), and a Minor in Physics (aimed at pre-medicine and health care professions).
In collaboration with the departments of physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Integrated Science and Technology, we offer an M.S in Physical Science with emphasis in Geobiophysical Modeling.
