In 1968 Pyramid Publications’ Ladder
Series, issued a paperback book
with selections from Jesse Stuart’s
God’s Oddling. The Ladder
Series were books designed for readers
for whom English is a second language,
using a vocabulary of predetermined
1,000 to 5,000 words, including a small
glossary of words unique to the book.
The book was at the entry reading
level of 1,000 words. Words not found in
the list were bolded and defined in the
glossary.
Because it is a paperback book, this
title is one of Stuart’s most scarce
books to
locate in good condition. Its value in
the antiquarian book trade is well over
