I also received a long letter from
Mary which I intend on answer-
ing by next mail.
I know nothing more to
to communicate. We have
been heading [illegible]
rain here recently.
Yesterday for dinner we had
a first class blackberry pie
made of some of the black-
berries you sent me, which
I sold to our mess. that was
the only way I could have
them cooked however I re-
tained four cans [of] blackberries
three of peaches and three ^(3)^ of
jelly in case of sickness.
I will write Pa by next
mail
Your affectionate son
Chas Aleshire
Mrs. R. Aleshire
