Retained in the Franklin Central High School's Advanced Placement English curriculum in Indianapolis (IN), despite some parents' concerns about the novel's language and sexual content.

2010

Reinstated in the Shelby (MI) school Advanced Placement English Curriculum, but parents are to be informed in writing and at a meeting about the books contents. Student's not wanting to read the book can choose and alternative without academic penalty. The superintendednt had suspended the book from the curriculum.
