Personal Version of Symantec Endpoint Protection
Provided below are the links to the PERSONAL version of Symantec® Endpoint Protection (SEP) web download for Windows and Macintosh. Please NOTE that the PERSONAL version is for use on personally-owned/home computers only! You must install the Managed version version for use on University-owned computers.
Under current licensing agreement, SEP may be installed on all personally-owned Marshall University faculty, staff and student machines, however you will be prompted to enter your MUNET username (example: marshall\smith123) and password in order to access the download.
Windows OS
The current version for all Windows installs is 12.1.2015.RU2. Supported client OS include Windows 8, Windows 7 RTM and SP1, Windows Vista, and Windows XP with SP3, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2012.
Depending on your preferences, you may choose to download an installation package with or without virus definition files. The virus definition files consume most of the package size and need to be updated via LiveUpdate immediately after installation of either package. Installing the package without definition files will save the initial download time, but might take longer to go through the LiveUpdate.
Important: Please confirm whether your Windows operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit before you begin downloading the package.
