Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related discipline; significant professional employment that demonstrates progressive experience and responsibility in information systems, project management, database technologies, programming skills and shared systems; proven track record in developing and implementing strategies and work plans for providing/improving integrated solutions; knowledge of scheduling environments such as Appworx; knowledge and experience with Salesforce, Oracle or SQL Service, PHP, Windows PowerShell, XML, Data Warehousing concepts and technologies, and structured programming techniques; experience with SunGard's Banner Student Information System (or similar) and related academic systems such as Blackboard, FSAatlas, etc.; demonstrated ability to diagnose/resolve technical problems independently and to lead development/implementation/integration of new and complex applications; strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical staff as well as non-technical users; clearly demonstrated ability to multi task and work in a collaborative team environment and to work cooperatively with others. Preferred: Git or SVN, Content management and Web development technologies, HTML/Java Script, Oracle Forms, SSH, Linux, technologies, Hummingbird BI, and a good sense of humor.

Duties:
Solicit INTO MU user requirements and create clear and concise technical requirements documents and obtain consensus from users on the requirements. Analyze existing systems and recommend required (maintenance) changes. Document alternatives systems/processes if existing system(s) cannot support change. Existing systems include Salesforce, Banner, Data Warehouse, and Nolij; document and manage new and existing projects; as a technical member of the team, provide technical leadership and recommend strategies to support current and future INTO MU technical needs; support central IT system upgrades by ensuring thorough testing of new changes as well as existing interfaces, etc. Document changes for INTO MU staff; provide Leadership by mentoring junior staff and non-technical colleagues, recommending improvements in processes, automating manual tasks, promoting a positive and collaborative environment and communicating concerns in a constructive and timely manner; Use Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PHP, and other programming languages and technical tools to develop change requests, technical specifications and test plans for use by MU programmers and functional users; document and recommend technical solutions using an understanding of the current information system's technical architecture; use data warehouse, database languages and related tools (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Oracle SQL Developer) to support regular and ad-hoc reporting from Salesforce, SQL Server, Banner and other systems as appropriate; diagnose/resolve technical problems independently, articulate and discuss solution with peers with a view to providing the best solution for INTO MU; multi task in the fast-paced, production environment to juggle priorities as needed to provide resolution to high profile technical issues; supervise and mentor student assistants and junior technical staff; set work schedules, goals and objectives; develop, recommend, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and work flow; evaluation of new software products or tools; document new and existing ways to eliminate manual processes.
