Graduate Scholarship Tuition Waiver
The tuition waiver application period for Summer 2013 semesters is now closed.
Please look for the Fall 2013 applications to be available here in mid-June.
The Marshall University Graduate Scholarship Tuition Waiver Program for Summer 2013 provides tuition assistance for a very limited number of Marshall University graduate students and Marshall University full-time faculty and staff employees.
Applicants must be currently admitted and enrolled in a graduate degree-granting or certificate program at Marshall University. The awarding of waivers is extremely competitive and is made on the basis of academic achievement.
Student Waiver Information:
- Students who received a Graduate Scholarship Tuition Waiver for Spring term, 2013, are NOT eligible for a waiver for Summer, 2013.
- Students cannot hold a Graduate Assistant position and a tuition waiver at the same time.
- Student waivers have a maximum value of $750 to cover the cost of up to three credit hours for graduate course work. The waiver does not cover online courses.
Faculty/Staff Waiver Information:
Faculty/Staff employee benefit waivers are available to all full-time faculty/staff employees of Marshall University and cover the complete cost of up to three credit hours for graduate course work (with the exception of required fees). The waiver does not cover online courses.
Application Process
Applicants who are awarded waivers will be notified by email at the close of the application period. Waivers are posted to student accounts within 10 business days of approval and registration. Award recipients are responsible for any amount not covered by the waiver. Balances must be paid by the tuition/fee due date noted on the Bursar site: http://www.marshall.edu/bursar/
Please note that award recipients must be registered for graduate courses for the Spring 2013 term by Wednesday May 1, 2013. We encourage applicants to register for classes at the same time they submit a waiver application. Waivers for students who are not registered by May 1, 2013, will be assigned to other qualified applicants.
Applications for Summer 2013 will be available in the Graduate College office (Old Main 113) on the Huntington campus, through a student’s academic department office on the South Charleston campus, or online
