The Center for African American Students’ Programs (CAASP), co- staffed with university graduate students, is profoundly committed to engendering the highest level of academic success for all African and African-American students. At Marshall University we have high expectations, but also can provide the guidance and supports necessary for our students to maximize their academic potential and to prepare them to live and work productively in a multicultural society.
The CAASP provides a pleasant and centrally located office setting where students may relax, study, debate, and connect with others. Everyone is welcome…. and will soon realize that The Center is a “home away from home”, where you are embraced, accepted and supported as a member of our family.
Students can benefit from the following services provided by the The CAAS:
Academic, majors, and career planning
Personal and academic problem solving and referral
Mentoring services
General guidance and crisis management
University information and protocol
