Letitia Neese Chafin is an attorney and partner in the H. Truman Chafin Law Firm. She is also the current president of the West Virginia State Bar. She is a resident of Williamson, West Virginia. She currently is serving in her second term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2012.



Oshel Craigo

Oshel Craigo is owner and operator of Better Foods Inc. He is a former West Virginia state senator, including serving as the Finance Committee Chairman for the West Virginia Senate. He is a resident of Winfield, West Virginia. He currently is serving in his first term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2014.



Michael J. Farrell

Huntington

Michael J. Farrell is an attorney and is Managing Member of the law firm of Farrell, White & Legg PLLC. He is a resident of Huntington, West Virginia. He served as Interim President of Marshall University for six months in 2005. He currently is serving in his second term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2013.



Verna K. Gibson – Chairman

Verna K. Gibson is president and owner of Outlook Consulting and is a board member of Chico’s FAS, Inc. of Ft. Myers, Florida. She is a resident of Sarasota, Florida. She currently is serving in her second term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2012.



David Haden

Charleston

David Haden is owner of i-Source, LLC, an insurance agency in Charleston, West Virginia. He currently is serving in his first term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2015.



John G. Hess – Vice Chairman

Barboursville

John G. Hess is a member in the accounting firm Hess, Stewart & Campbell, PLLC. He is a resident of Barboursville, West Virginia. He currently is serving in his second term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2012.



Ed Howard

Phoenix, Arizona

Edward T. Howard III is the retired senior vice president and regional manager of J.C. Penney Company’s West Region. He is a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona. He currently is serving in his first term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2013.



Dale Lowther

Parkersburg

Dale Lowther is an accountant with the firm of Cain & Associates in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He is a resident of Williamstown, West Virginia. He currently is serving in his first term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2013.



Joseph McDonie

Milton

Joseph K. McDonie is chief executive officer of Rock Branch Community Bank Inc., in Nitro, West Virginia, President & Chief Executive Officer of Citation Investments, Inc., Huntington, WV, Managing member Beacon Development, LLC, Milton, WV. Mr. McDonie also serves as a member of the Board of Directors and chairs the development commitment of the Education Alliance, Charleston, WV. He is a resident of Milton, West Virginia. He currently is serving in his first term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2014.



Michael G. Sellards – Secretary

Huntington

Michael G. Sellards is president and chief executive officer of St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia and a resident of Huntington. He serves as secretary of the MU Board of Governors. He currently is serving in his second term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2014.



Wyatt Scaggs

Logan

Wyatt Scaggs is a third-generation owner and operator of Baisden Brother Hardware. A lifelong resident of Logan, he graduated from Logan High School in 1978 and received his B.S. in accounting from Marshall University. He currently is serving in his first term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2015.



Joseph Touma

Huntington

Joseph B. Touma, M.D. is an ear specialist practicing at the Touma Ear, Hearing, and Balance Center, PLLC which he established in 1971 in Huntington, West Virginia, and Ashland, Kentucky. He is a resident of Huntington. He currently is serving in his first term with the MU Board of Governors, which expires on June 30, 2012.

Marty Amerikaner – Faculty Representative

Huntington

Marty Amerikaner is the faculty representative to the Board of Governors. He is a professor in the Psychology Department, where he has worked since 1988, serving as chair of the department from 1991 until 2007. His term expires June 30 2013.



Miriah Young – Staff Representative

Milton

Miriah Young is the classified staff representative for the Board of Governors. An employee of Marshall for 5 years, she obtained her B.A. in Psychology, as well as her M.S. in Adult Education, from Marshall. Her term expires June, 30 2013.



Ray Harrell Jr. – Student Representative

Huntington

Ray Harrell Jr. is Student Body President at Marshall University for 2011-2012. He is a junior Political Science major who is originally from Boca Raton, Florida, but has grown up in the Huntington area. His term on the MU Board of Governors expires at the end of the spring term in 2012.
