ΓΗ Scholarship Information
The Gamma Eta Scholarship Fund has
been created to provide scholarships for members of the Gamma Eta Chapter of
Alpha Chi Sigma. This endowed
scholarship fund will be administered by the Alpha Chi Sigma Educational Foundation.
The award for 2013 will be $2000. It is expected that the amount will increase
as additional donations are made to the fund.
The 2012 Gamma Eta Scholarship was awarded to Catherine Higgins.
The selection committee, which
consists of three Professional members, will solicit applications from the
members of Gamma Eta Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma at the end of March each
year. Only those members who were
initiated prior to the beginning of the current calendar year will be
eligible. The recipient must be a
student at Marshall University for at least one term after the award is
made. Both undergraduate and graduate
students shall be eligible. Students who
were initiated at other chapters but who have become active in Gamma Eta
Chapter shall also be eligible.
The committee will consider the
following criteria in the process of making a decision:
1.
active participation in the activities of Gamma
Eta Chapter and Alpha Chi Sigma as a whole and how well the applicant lives up
to the three objects of the Fraternity
2.
academic record
3.
financial need
4.
the committee is requested to give special
consideration to those applicants whose parents did not attend college
5.
any other criteria that the committee may find
appropriate
